The Centre

The Centre for children, young people and families is open for play, fun, learning and leisure
The Centre is for inpatients, outpatients and siblings of all ages (0-19 years old). Everyone is welcome to come down for fun, educational & recreational activities!
We ask that children under 4 years old are accompanied by a parent or carer. Children in Reception Class (normally 4 and 5 years olds) can come and learn, play and have fun and generally can be left unaccompanied. We follow the EYFS curriculum and children can access both child initiated and teacher led learning 5 days a week.
Older children and young people might be interested in using the Xbox consoles and pool table in the Den. There are lots more games, arts and crafts materials and resources available for this age range, too.
“I would be absolutely lost without this place. Both my children love it so much, they never want to leave. Thanks for everything you do”
Mother of two children aged 6 & 12
“It’s so enjoyable for everyone here. It makes patients very happy”
Samina, aged 10
“I enjoy playing , cooking , baking and doing some school work too. It’s a fun place to be”. Daisy, aged 6
We are open Monday-Friday 10am-4.30pm and we stay open at lunchtime (on Wednesdays we close at 3.30pm).
